US denies spying on 'ordinary' European citizens

In response to an FT article by Duncan Robinson on 28th September 2015, entitled 'US attacks EU judge's 'inaccurate assertions' on net surveillance'

“The United States does not and has not engaged in indiscriminate surveillance of anyone, including ordinary European citizens.”

Translation: "We concentrate on discriminate surveillance of extraordinary European citizens, which, to be entirely transparent, means anyone we fancy having a look at.  But I repeat and I want to make this very clear, we have not had sexual relations with that data".
