FT obsession with Trump Ch 5, Ed Luce sets fire to his pants

In response to an FT article by Edward Luce on 8th March 2017, entitled Donald Trump’s self-defeating Obama obsession’

“Mr Trump will keep pulling him back into the arena. In the weeks before Mr Trump took office, Mr Obama bent over backwards to welcome his successor. In a fleeting moment of gratitude, Mr Trump said: “I don’t know if he’ll admit it, but he [Obama] likes me.” Mr Trump would have been closer to the truth if he had declared what is really gnawing at him. Mr Obama won twice with a clear majority, whereas Mr Trump lost the popular vote. He can never forgive him for that” – Edward Luce

‘Closer to the truth’…whose ‘truth’ is that Mr Luce? Have you been bugging Trump’s pillow talk or does he call you up in order to emote? Seriously, I think he has far bigger things ‘gnawing at him’' than President Obama’s double victory margin – like the fact that the majority of the existing state apparatus would like to put him in a box and mail him to Moscow.

It’s striking how much drama the ‘Trump tweets’ have caused, even within a media obsessed with moral outrage and virtue signalling. Yet another MSNBC presenter broke down on air the other day…snivelling her way through an interview, perhaps in sympathy with the recent Oscars.

It seems we can invade Iraq and that’s OK – because we were ‘defending our way of life’…we can turn Libya into a junk yard and that’s OK - we were ‘removing a wicked dictator and democratising the middle east’…we can recruit, train and fund organised gangs of murderers and that’s OK too - we’re supporting ‘moderates’

But Trump has gone too far…he’s accused a man who hates his guts and a bunch of spooks of bugging his phone…time to set fire to your knickers and add another 1500 words to the river of pabulum flowing from the ‘quality’ media…

Here’s another thought for you Mr Luce: Those tweets were not meant for you. Neither were they meant for the DNC, the GOP, the CIA, John McCain, Charles Schumer or the Grand Snowflake of the UC Berkeley PC Lodge.

They were meant for the millions of people who voted for Donald Trump to be their president because they are sick to the back teeth with the Washington cesspit of ersatz ‘liberals’ and warmongering neocons who look upon them as utterly deplorable…people unworthy of having a voice or making a choice. The tweets translate as this:

'They are coming for me. They will do anything to get rid of me. I am going to need your awareness in order to survive”

And on that score, even if it turns out he is wrong about everything else, Donald Trump is absolutely correct.
